Step 1:
Relax! Get a hold of yourself. No, that's not what I meant...! 8-)
Step 2:
With the power off, remove ALL of the cards from their slots and attepmt
to restart. You should get a [BEEP!] and the "Apple ][" splash screen,
with an Applesoft prompt directly below. If this is the case, then you
DIDN'T fry your computer. I think this is likely.
Step 3:
Shut the power off and one by one, reinstall all of the cards, restarting
and checking the machine after each card insertion. Start with the
80-column board, then move on to the disk controller, then on to any other
cards.
IF YOU ARE LUCKY--
Then nothing is fried...you will get everything installed and everything
will work just fine. This is actually very likely.
IF YOU ARE UNLUCKY--
Then when you install one of the boards, you won't be able to power up the
machine. This usually indicates a bad expansion board. I think it is far
more likely that one of the boards became unseated, and everything is
probably OK. Let us know what happens!
Step 4:
Find yourself a newsreader and/or email program that doesn't leave that
HTML crap in your messages! Thanks!
