Yes, definitely. Apple only sold the card from late 1991 to
1993, and in that 2 year span very few were sold because of the
high cost of the card and the required FDHD drive (cost: US$500
for the two). There was not even software available early on to
read/write MS-DOS floppy disks, making it very unattractive.
There are very few in circulation.

Search comp.sys.mac.wanted, misc.forsale.computers.mac-specific.
misc or similiar. Finding an external SuperDrive may be difficult,
so the next best thing is searching for a bare internal mechanism
and then transplanting that into an old 800K case (you just need
to unscrew the old mechanism and reconnect a few wires).
Another option is finding a 3rd party clone drive. AMR and AE
are some examples, you may even be able to find one on comp.sys.
