Thanks for all the suggestions. <I never new you could use goo gone, 
alcohol, toothpaste, nail polish remover, paint brush cleaner or paint 
thinner to remove permanent marker.>

Anyway, for now, I think I'll try the common everyday household item of 
toothpaste. <I used up all the goo gone to get rid of some slime.>

Or, I could always wait for 100 odd years for the marker too fade away. ;)
