...another way is to use another permanent marker.  this is a trick i
use at work:  with a wipe ready to work, draw aimlessly on a small
part of the stuff to be removed.  the ink from the marker will
"loosen" the stuff that's already there.  quickly wipe away what
you've drawn.  (this is why you do it in small bits)  repeat as
necessary.  granted, it may take a while, but it works for me....  :)
