Except that in s-video, the chroma and luma do stay separate. Also, the
signals of the chroma/luma may not be at the 13?Mhz of RGB, but each line
is at 6Mhz which is way better than 4.2 Mhz range of NTSC. Since it's not
coming off tape source, it does look pretty good on the screen.
I've compared, on the AppleColor RGB of the GS the graphics from the GS
and graphics from the Playstation through s-video onto a s-video tv.
Comparable 320x200 resolution modes.
Coming from a live source.. s-video is pretty comparable to straight RGB,
albeit with some color resolution loss (apparent as color bleeding).
Sharp enough, bright, and usable for most non-perfectionist people.. :)
Sometimes sharper because dot-pitch effects pixel blur less on a bigger
display. Personally.. I still prefer real RGB..
