I would blame the software. Example, I would try to back up my hard drive
and the trashware would crash into the monitor w/out notice, forcing me
to redo the backup from the start. If I ran deliverance? it would say
there was nothing wrong with the disk, then I could backup.
If you use Archiver, make a backup copy of the first disk-of that goes
bad, you cannot recover any of the files.
Best backup program? ProSel (though I recently bought a zip drive & use
that for my backups now).
