It's unique. Who among my family and friends still uses an Apple //?
It's fun. Especially with my system rSounds and killer icons. :)
It makes me feel like I'm special. Using old hardware to solve modern
problems, zipping around the Internet on an 8-bit, showing others
how to do it and proving you don't need a flippin' 686 to exist.
It's what I own and have collected software for since 1984, and it is
all backward compatable so I've never had to toss a ][+ soft.
Most importantly, it does what I want it to do and doesn't balk. Most
people have more computer than they need and never use it to its
capacity. Maybe my boundary is lower but I know I'm pushing the
envelope when I'm running at high performance level -- and am in
the system's comfort zone when doing my daily thing (email, xfers,
word processing, monkeying around) instead of well below it.
So this is why I still use my //e and obtained a GS last year.
