Probably not news to most, but American Mac users should beware when
buying new macs from mail order concerns that will sell you a system
designed for use in another country (e.g., the UK). You get a weird
keyboard, a registration card addressed to somewhere in the UK, and
most
importantly, you don't get a 12-digit Apple tech support number,
although
you can get this from Apple after jumping thru a few hoops.
I fell victim to LA Computer; I'm sure there are others. When I called
this company about this issue, they said they couldn't help, and that
if
I'd wanted the American Mac I would have had to pay $300 more.
