I use GSTape with a SCSI tape drive (a 6250, using 500Meg tapes) to
back up 11 ProDOS partitions and 2 HFS partitions. Two the the
ProDOS volumes reside on a Vulcan Gold 40. All other partitions
reside on various devices on my SCSI chain. Other than changing
tapes, this operation is "unattended".

I've had to do restores on many occasions, so I know that GSTape
works, even for large (multi-megabyte) files. I would recommend
ProSel-16 for volume maintenance and GSTape for backups. (I used
to use ProSel for backups, but since it only supports floppy media,
it was too painful for large partitions.)
