   Well, the main problem is not actually physically connecting it up
(SCSI cables are standardized enough that you can find cables most of
the time for things), but actually finding any software to *USE* it.
The handheld scanners for the GS had their own interface cards and
protocols which don't work with SCSI devices. Next, Apple on the Sys 6
Gold Master had a program that talked to an Apple-branded scanner (not
sure if they had their own oddball proprietary formats or something
rational for once), and could get something on the screen, but no way
to save.

   I'd recommend finding an older PC|Mac and parking the scanner on
that.  The image editing software on other computers (e.g. Photoshop)
is light years ahead of anything on the GS.
