UN*Xy OS on apple][?

I recall reading of a unixlike operating system that could be run on an
apple ][ and the like.  Did I completely hallucinate that, was the article
incorrect, or could I possibly be right?  I've done numerous websearches on
the subject w/ no success, and saw no mention of such a thing in the FAQ.

any ideas?
