Ground's admins: sucking up to Turkey

In article <9CE54A7B97C46CA0.C5BF9D4E239AB8A9.ADDD138D56656DC7@library-proxy.airnews.net>,

I've told the ground admin off about *several* files that Turley's
uploaded and violating copyright restrictions, and unfortunately, he's
done his best to bend over backwards and suck up to Turkey-- even when
the copyright on the files EXPLICITLY said it wasn't to be passed on
to other sites like ground.

And if you want REAL garbage that should NOT be on ground, try the
uploads of Turkey & friend's web pages to ground, complete with
pictures of various crud. Apple II software? No way in hell. Raising
that issue with the admin got the response of roughly "I can't really
defend their being there; maybe you shouldn't look at them." Bzzzzzt!
Wrong answer. The correct answer is to delete them. If you really
want to be nice, they could be moved to a morgue directory for a week,
giving the uploaders a chance to take them away.

Interesting bringing up the issue that the ground drive *WAS* paid
for by others, and it's essentially on loan to uiowa.edu. Time to
start a campaign to round up the original contributors, and get a vote
to have it moved to a more responsible admin, or should we just tell
the uiowa.edu admins that their admin is *knowingly* keeping around
copyrighted material there that he has no rights to? Bad career move
if I ever saw one.
