Please ID Card For a Newbie

I found a II+ at a surplus store, cleaned it up, and got it running!
But, I'm a total Apple newbie, so could someone please tell me...

There's a card in slot 4, which looks like a video card, labelled
"Videx".  Is this the right slot?  If it's an 80 column card, what
software will enable the higher res?

Is there a source for II+ cards and software besides thrifts, etc?
