Usually 80-column cards go in slot 3. (Numbering starts at 0!) But
most DOS3.3-based software doesn't really care which slot holds the
card. To activate it, do a "PR#n", where "n" is the slot number.
Other OS's (Apple Pascal, many CP/M implementations) will insist that
80-column cards go in slot 3.
Videx sold cards that could do substantially more than just 80 columns.
(I seem to recall one that did 160 columns). I'm not sure how to
differentiate among the different models, or how to activate the even
higher-res text modes.

"comp.sys.apple2.marketplace".
