I understand where you're coming from, and I respect your
position.  In another recent post to this group, I comment on
the small (and shrinking) size of the Apple II market, and
surmise that very few people must be relying on that market
for their support.

Please understand that I do not in any way disparage those,
like yourself, who do supplement their incomes with Apple-
derived money.  Joe Kohn once shared with me that he was
fortunate enough to support himself by doing what he loved.

It seems to me that any responsible position on software
distribution, authorized or not, must respect the right of the
creator to income which is generated.  It also seems to me
that if the creator is not receiving any compensation, and
is no longer interested in receiving any--as is the case for
"out-of-print" software--then no real harm is done if the
software is distributed freely.

I hope that Shifty List continues to pay your bills for a
long time to come!  ;-)
