But they would be good for running PC/Mac wares from a few
 years ago.  My hope was to be able to move the lab from
 the bronze age up to the iron age, metaphorically.

Consensus seems to indicate that a 20ish MHz computer from
 5-10 years ago is unable to fully emulate a 10-15 year old
 1 MHz computer.  I'll have to keep the A2's in the lab.
