Depends on the AppleWorks and depends on the particular GS and '486.
My 13.75MHz GS runs AppleWorks GS v1.1 faster than my 16 grayscale
25MHz '486 running the Win 3.1 version of Microsoft Works under
Win '95.
(Both the GS and the '486 have 8MB of RAM, but the '486 has more
HD storage)
Using the same TrueType fonts and the same printer (connected to
both computers), GUI word processing and page layout documents
are identical in quality.
