Sorry but this is not true. Word is p-code and the reason why most people 
avoid it on the Mac. It's a monster application, and Microsoft had better
things to do than taking care of acceptable performance. People were pissed off
by Word 6 and ordered Word 5 which was created for the Mac from scratch. IMO,
the only differences between Word 6 and Word 5 are slugginess and the zoom box.

Luckily, there are companies that do word processing et al without all the
bells and whistles but in a much more appealing way. I wonder why people are so
much focused on the Microsoft brand. There are other companies that are
developing software products, and chances are high they - unlike MS - even know
how to do it.
