By far, I always thought "Program Writer" (which ultimately was a
Beagle Bros product) was the best unsung Apple II product ever.

For my tastes, ESC editing of applesoft was the pits, and even GPLE,
while powerful, was far from elegant. Program Writer was, as far as I
was concerned, a wonderful "word processor" for AppleSoft. It had (or
has, I guess) Macros, automatic line renumbering (or numbering on the
fly), and lots of features that I remember as increadibly useful but I
have forgotten.

It was so useful, that I stopped writing total spaghetti code and
actually started practicing good programming methods. Back in 1988, it
was just a wonderful way to spend time programming.
