All correct.

The instructions you mention are in ROM and thus do not have to be
loaded to RAM to overrude SOME ROM 01 areas when booting. As far as I
know this is a time to boot loss. Not all that bad IMHO.

I don't think so. The ROM 3 board is supposed to have better sound due
to movement of traces to avoid noise. The down side is that the ROM 3
will not run some (mostly demo) software.

The only upside from my perspective is the 1Meg motherboard RAM which
means with a 4Meg board you have 5Meg, not 4.25Meg.

Others will jump in with both feet if I have erred.
