   The GS came out after the Mac, and borrows a large number of
similar ideas and design methodologies, and managed to improve on a
few things from the programmer's side. [Stuff like every app having
access to all of the system memory, not silly fixed block sizes
allocated at program startup]

   I encourage you to read the comp.sys.apple2 Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ), which had the monthly posting to comp.sys.apple2 just
about 24 hours ago, and is available online at

   Yes, see section 7.2 of the csa2 FAQ :)   In short, it's available
at Apple's ftp site, but if you don't have any software running already,
you can get a disk containing ProDOS for $3 from Steve Cavanaugh, as
referenced from sections 7.2 and 10.2 of the FAQ.
