Unfortunately, none of these options will work on a //e.  I'm afraid
that converting the jpeg to a gif elsewhere, then viewing the gif 
with the //e is the only way to go.  Besides, decoding a jpeg would
be even more painfully slow on the //e than it is on the GS :(
