Yup, my Quantum 730 Lightning has worked flawlessly with the RamFAST
for nearly two years now. No errors or other oddities have ever arisen,
and it has been great in terms of speed (quite often it feels like I'm
working off a RAM Disk!). The only problem, which has nothing to do with
the GS or RamFAST, is the motor has been making louder than usual noises
while spinning. Also the drive has spun down and back up again once or
twice in the past, probably another sign the motor is dying.
You have a ROM 3.01f, don't you? I wouldn't be surprised if that
is causing problems, considering all the other mess that revision had
caused just to make the restore function work in the built-in tape
backup utility (or maybe your Quantum mechanism is defective?). I'm
using a ROM 3.01e in my RamFAST, and have no plans to change it unless
another revision is released (with Jawaid gone and Sequential having
forgot the meaning of the word "support", I doubt that'll ever happen).
I may still be able to get hold of a bunch of 3.01e ROMs (legal copies
from Sequential of course) from a defunct Apple II company, I'll post
if that happens and make them available.

The only thing I really hate about my RamFAST is that it can
only deal with 12 partitions, period. Oh, and the fact it won't
work with some of the newer SCSI hardrives, in which case I may
have to ask that Quantum send me an EIDE drive as a replacement
if all they have to send are incompatible Fireballs (I suppose
I could find an inexpensive used 200-300 MB SCSI mechanism for
the GS then).
