    Not quite, while it will connect at 14400, your going to start
losing characters (and most likely experience errors when doing
any file transfers). I've tried it on my Apple IIc Plus with a
non-HWHS modem cable. If you want a perfectly reliable connection,
I'd faster stick with 9600 bps. The point is, 14.4K WILL work, it
just will not work _well_. 

    Fast or slow, the Apple IIc Plus still uses the same 6551 UARTs 
found in the Apple IIc and the same five pins via the serial ports
(three of the eight pins on the mini-DIN8 port are not used).
