Soenke, your interpretation is absolutely correct.  Right now I have 
an external cable (and the other connectors) stuffed inside the case.
It works, but it is not very elegant--not that I'm going for any 
awards.  I just want to be able to show it to my brother (a windows 
man) and others and not have it look too hairballed.

I may have found a solution--a company that makes custom cables.  I 
had called a few and none would touch a custom SCSI cable of this 
type.  If it works, I'll post the compnay, phone #, and guy I talked 
to about the cable.  It is a bit more expensive than some may want to 
spend.  However, it should be exactly what I want and it should be 
fairly high quality.  So, we will see.
