I am fairly sure getting a DeskWriter to work with WPGS is a no go.
For the most part, HP DeskWriters can only be used with programs that
use the GS/OS printer drivers. WPGS does not use the GS/OS printer
drivers; it has its own drivers.
Of course, WPGS will work with HP DeskJets. Little comfort I am
sure.
The incompatibility has something to do with the HP DeskWriters
required serial port speed (56K ???) being higher than the normal GS
serial port speed (19.2K ???). For programs that use the GS/OS
printer drivers, there are drivers available from Vitesse (Harmonie)
and Seven Hills (Independence) which include a high-speed serial port
driver. Again, WPGS does not use the GS/OS printer drivers.
