So we're supposed to convince someone selling Apple II stuff to try to get
more money than they plan to. Is that the deal? Let me guess, to not do
that is "insulting the Apple II" right?
Since I own six IIgs boxes, I'm not in the market so it's neither here nor
there to me what this guy asks or accepts for his stuff. But when I'm trying
to buy something, I'm in the habit of trying to get it for the least possible
amount.

Well maybe in the alternate universe where a IIgs system can still fetch $400.
I've seen 20 mb Quadra 700s in the $300s in the forsale groups. If I were
to put my Quadra 840av with 56 mb, 2 mb VRAM, gig hard disk, and 4X CD on
the market, I'd be amazed if I could get even $900.

Funny you mention Mac advocates. The original poster posted into several
inappropriate groups, including comp.sys.mac.advocacy. What in the crap
do you expect to have happen if you post to an advocacy group about something
other than what the group's for? I cut down the followup-to groups to keep
those people from flooding this group with more of that. If you can muster
enough thought capacity to grasp this concept, you'll agree that it was a
good idea to do so.
As always, I will not dignify that "anti-Apple II attacks" comment with a
response.
