Scott:   I was merely pointing her to a source where she could get BOTH the
necessary cable and the modem and the software for one bundled price.  I
did this a few years ago for my //c and I was not sorry--nor did I think at
the time I paid too much.  Your mileage may vary.  I've even heard from
someone who thought that the //gs modem cable will work with the //c, so
what's the fuss?  The fuss *IS* that the //c requires a separate modem
cable all its own, much different on the //c end than the //gs-Mac serial
cable.  The //c modem cables are very difficult to find locally now. 
Scantron just happens to be a current source of them.

My particular //c DOES have the timing defect so I can use only the 2400
baud modem.  Hers may have the timing defect as well.
