Apple //c LCD Screen & SmartHome software.....

I'd like to know once and for all if the LCD screen pictured in so many of
my third party Apple //c reference books was ever made and available for
sale in the U.S.  Price was supposed to be around $600.00.  Did/does anyone
on this group have one and how well did/does it work if you do?  Just
curious....

Also, there is a software pictured in these same reference books called
"Smart Home" that dealt with appliance, security, and light control via the
Apple //c.  I assume it would work on an enhanced //e or a //gs as well. 
Does anyone on this group have this, how well does/did it work, etc. etc.?
