I've had one of those Radio Shack 110v. fans installed inside my //e for
years. I siliconed it to the removeable cover on the front right side
so it doesn't interfere with the boards in slots 5,6,7. I used a line
plug and jack and soldered it into the power supply by drilling a small
hole in the power supply case. I preferred to use the 110v. rather than
the 12v. fan, because it takes the line voltage before it goes thru the
electronics of the power supply. My //e is fully loaded, so I don't
want to steal any juice from the 12v. circuitry. The miniature plug
and jack make the cover completely removeable.
