It appears that a Laser FAQ is sorely needed.

Shawn, pull that Video 7 NOW!  The Laser has its own custom
video chip with its own 64K of video RAM that supports both
CGA digital and GS style RGB analog monitors.  All you need
is a Laser to CGA cable, though I don't know where you'd find
one these days.  The IIc port is different: it does not have
RGB built in, hence the need for adaptor boxes like the Video 7.

The GS monitor is analog.  The GS uses it in 4096 possible
colors, more with a Second Sight.  When you plug it into a
digital output the colors are wrong.
