If by DS/QD you mean 5.25" 80 track 640/720KB disks then I think that they
have the same magnetic properties as DS/DD. All that changes is the drive
having twice as many tracks - the individual tracks are the same as on 320/360
KB disks. I have used dual speed 1.2MB drives strapped to 300rpm (low density)
to write 80 tracks on DS/DD disks with no problems what so ever.
