Re: RamFast SCSI Question
I think it is actually the Quantum Fireball's firmware.
The reason I am saying that is because I distinctively remember (think
it is 12) years ago, I tried to install NetBSD and there's an issue
with the Quantum Fireballs that the driver cannot see the entire 1Gb
drive (as a single partition), and that it has to be partitioned a
first smaller partition, and then a larger partition (remaining size)
to install NetBSD.
It was something wierd to do with the Quantum Fireballs. Well, in
MacOS it will see it fine, because the firmware works well in MacOS.
I have not tried it outside of the NetBSD for Mac (I was running on a
Mac LC III back then with a same QFB1080S) to put it on my Apple IIGS
(think that time I had a 500Mb Quantum Fireball) with my RAMFast SCSI.
I'm not saying that it is the issue, but certainly it may point to the
same issue with the NetBSD unable to address the entire 1Gb on Qantum
Fireballs (and it is just Quantums only, other harddisks reportedly
has no issue).
