I think you are missing the point of the ad. The purpose of the ad was not
to point out that the //e will be able to use a USR modem of any kind--only
to reference WHO Steve Wozniak is and what his claim to fame is (I know
*you* know who he is, and so do I, but many ibm pc owners/users who see the
ad may NOT know who he is....)
And about your comments concerning the multimedia capability of PCs vs.
Macs: I remember when (in 1984) PCs were just "boxes" with external
removable hard disk cartridges (Bernoulli boxes) and large 5 1/4" floppy
drives--and very little else. I know because I was forced to use them at
my job then (while my Apple //c was at home). While PCs may have come a
long way since then, Macs on the other hand, at least since 1985-86 when
the Mac Plus debuted--has had a SCSI port for full expansion of 7
devices--all of which could include external CD ROM drives and other
multimedia devices. Which again proves that Apple was first in yet another
area.
It never ceases to amaze me that PC owners continually scoff at the Mac,
only to be so short sighted not to realize that their own computer would
not be what it is today if it were not for the Mac.
