Agreed! Keep up the good Work Dr. Tom! (Hear that, all the guys who say
Turley has not done anything good for the Apple II)

: Unfortunately, as the problems with Word Perfect/gs demonstrate, one may obtain well-meant agreements and emails from individuals in a company's bureaucracy. Yet, when the 'dust clears', one may, still, not have a valid release.

: This underscores the challenges involved in getting old Apple II wares reclassified for release into the public domain. Many wares have been sold, transferred as part of a settlement, reverted to an obscure programmer, etc.. Often, the owning corporation or individual is not even aware of possessing rights to a product. Then, too, owners and potential owners are not always enthusiastic about digging through old records.

All the guys who want to help, should always remember two things:

1) Be persistent! You will need to do a lot of detective work and you will need to
deal with a lot of desk jockeys. To increase their motivation, you may offer them
to release the program as SHAREware if they don't want to release it for free.

2) GET A WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM THEM. Otherwise I accept no responsibility for
   flame attacks from csa2 Vogons, no matter how good your intentions are. :)

He wouldn't try to beat the system, he would __
just use it. The frightening thing about the    |\/| /\ |__||  | | |\  |
Vogons was their absolute mindless              |  ||__||\  |  | | | \ |
determination to do whatever mindless thing it  |  ||  || \  \/  | |  \|
was, they were determined to do. There was
never any point in trying to appeal to
their reason because they didn't have any.
However, if you kept your nerve you could sometimes
exploit their blinkered, bludgeoning insistence on
being bludgeoning and blinkered. It wasn't merely
that their left hand didn't always know what their
right hand was doing, so to speak; quite often their
right hand had a pretty hazy notion as well."
