RE:  WordPerfect from Corel 
 
   I called the home office of Corel and spoke to a representative of the
software licence division.  She knew nothing about such a decision by Corel and
transferred me to the legal department.  The legal folks said they would call
back.
 
   FWIW:  the same thing happened to me when the same folks offered that MECC
software no longer in circulation would be "freeware".  MECC had never heard of
the person offering to give away their software.
