If you have a macintosh with a 1.44 meg floppy drive, then you've got
it made. Just stick the Apple II disk in the mac, which will mount it
just fine if you have system 7.5.x, and copy the files to the hard
disk. Then eject the Apple II disk and stick in a PC formatted 1.44
floppy disk and copy the files onto it. Then take that disk to a PC
and copy them in.
This disk based solution will truncate apple II filenames longer than
8 characters, but if you have a network connection between a Mac and a
PC (like I do using WIndows NT 4 Server) then you can copy the files
from the mac to the PC with long filenames intact.
I can also perform this service for you if you like. Send me the Apple
II disks (or copies of them) and some blank PC disks, money for
postage, and maybe a couple of bucks for lunch.
CrossWorks will also work by connecting your laser and PC together via
a serial cable, and then converting AW to WP51 or Microsoft WOrks. It
sells for $90.
ClarisWorks for the Mac and older versions of Macwrite II will also
convert AW and AWGS files into many common, though older, formats. I
sometimes still use MacWrite II for this purpose. Unfortunately, you
can only do files one at a time with this method.
Hope this helps.
