In the case of DriveWire, interrupts are definitely not the way to go.  Unlike 
network communication, we would know exactly what to expect for incoming data 
and must wait for the entire block.  No penalty for doing this polled.

At some point I may take you up on that.  Right now I'm just in the "thinking 
about it" stage.
