Help!!, how can I connect a Brother HL-8PS to an Apple Macintosh

Hi,

We want to connect a Brother HL-8PS Postscript Laserprinter
to a Apple Macintosh IIci computer, but we don't know how
to do it. Who can help us??

We tried a lot of things but they all did not work for some
reason.

Brother told us that it is easy to connect to an Apple
Macintosh because the HL-8PS is supplied with an Appletalk
interface as standard. Our HL-8PS has no Appletalk interface.
I think only a special version of the HL-8PS, called
the HL-8PS AP, had this Appletalk interface.

We tried to make connection with a RS-422 cable and
also with a RS-232 cable we made by our own. The IIci
has a 8-pin minicircular printer port.
We finally got some connection but the printer
gives all kind of error messages because the connection is
not setup in the correct way (Baud rate, parity, data format,
etc.).
The Apple IIci chooser is complaining that he can not find an
(local talk) HL-8PS printer (wrong driver?).

Who knows what is the best way, and how to do it, for connecting
a Brother HL-8PS Laserprinter to an Apple Macintosh IIci.
Which driver must I use and where can I get it?
Which serial port can I use?
What are the pin assignments of the cable that I must use?
