Mac Formatted (HFS) Disks on Apple2gs

Is the Apple IIgs HFS FST able to read media that is formatted on a
Mac or via a PC utility that formats Mac media?

I used a Win95 utility called MacOpener to HFS format a Bernoulli
150MB cartridge on my PC in order to transfer files to my IIgs. The
Apple IIgs didn't even seem to notice that it was in the drive. Then
I tried formatting an HFS cartridge on my Apple IIgs to read via
MacOpener on my PC, MacOpener crashed horribly. I took the drive to a
friend's house to test it on his Mac and we didn't have any problems
reading from or writing to the cartridge formatted with MacOpener.
Unfortunately I didn't take the Apple IIgs formatted HFS cart, so I
didn't test that (wasn't thinking). My friend does NOT live nearby,
so going back isn't such an easy option.

Has anyone tried this? Or do I need an update, utility, or something
else?

Here's my system info:

My IIgs system is set up as follows:
	ROM 1 Apple IIgs.
	3.5" Apple drive
	2- 5.25" floppy drives (1 Apple and 1 Mitac)
RamFAST v3.01f (got this in June '96)
	105MB Toshiba SCSI HDD
	Toshiba SCSI 1x CD-ROM drive
	150MB Bernoulli Box cartridge drive
4MB RAM in an OctoRAM memory board.
	TransWarp GS accelerator.
	PCTransporter
	Stereo Sound Card.
GS/OS system 6.0.1 and using ProSel.

My PC (bare facts):
	Dex AMD 5x86/133MHz
	32MB RAM
150MB Bernoulli Box cartridge drive (yes, I have 2)
	Windows 95
	MacOpener v2.0

Thanks for any help.
