To add, the difference between the Apple 800K drive and the Unidisk 800K drive is the analog or daisy-chain card. Inside the Unidisk 3.5" drive is a smart card which is basically a small 65C02 single board computer. The computer's Smartport talks to the Unidisk's Smartport, or whatever drive has the capability. This is why the Apple drives don't work on the Apple IIc. They are basically duh-umb drives. 8^) Bill
