A question and a comment.
[Q] It's not clear in your FAQ - can a IIgs use the same card as the
ones used in the earlier machines? I have a custom card that goes into
slot 4 and would like to run it off of a gs if possible.
[C] Apple's UCSD version 1.3 can boot off of a 3.5" disk.
