Well, first off, the chances of a .ZIP file containing a resource fork
is extremely slim as the .ZIP format was created for MS-DOS machines
and, I do believe, has no support for resource forks.

With that out of the way, there are three Apple II utilities that I
know of for unzipping files.

Angel o81: which you mentioned above and is also integrated into the
Agate communications program.

Unzip v1.0: which might also go by the name UnzipIIe I can't really
remember at the moment and sports a user interface almost identical to
the 8 bit version of ShrinkIt.

PMPUnzip v2.0: you mentioned that you are using an older version so
you might want to try to find the version 2.0 archive and try it
instead of the version you are currently using.
