You can pipe the downloaded data in a file when you hold the shift-key
down when you click the mouse. I use both ftp (BIN mode) and Netscape
to transfer files from ground and other sites to my unix host in the
background while I am at work. Later, I use a Mac to 'fetch' them to
3.5" disks.
So far I have not had any major troubles with this method. OK, you
lose the filetype, but both GSCII and GSHK can handle files with
unknown types. It's true however, that the files arrive damaged
sometimes when the net is full, especially when they are transfered
overseas. :(
