Simple //c questions

In anyone can help me with these simple questions, please do!

I just bought a //c computer used.  I was a //e user many years ago,
so I know Apple IIe's, but not the differences with the //c.  It did
not come with a manual, so I'll ask here.

1) What do the keyboard and 80/40 buttons do ABOVE the keyboard?
I'm assuming 80/40 is something related to 80 column mode?

2) I noticed there are two monitor ports on the back.  What kind of
adapter do I need to get to use the RGB port on the back?  Would it be
true I can attach my 17" ViewSonic SVGA monitor to this //c?
