   My ROM 01 is way better than an expanded //e-- HD, 4.25MB Ram,
Zip 9/32, etc. Perhaps you meant to say "base ROM 01"

   Given that my school used ROM 3s as color //es and occasionally
running Appleworks off 3.5", I don't think the ROM version mattered as
much-- if the teachers didn't know or care how to use the features of
the GS, they were just fancy //es.
