Re: ProDOS Question

An important note about PREFIX...

If your current prefix is, say, /GEMINI...

]PREFIX COMMUNICATIONS
will change the current prefix to /GEMINI/COMMUNICATIONS
                                  ^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
But... (volume) (directory)

]PREFIX /THUNDERBOLT

will change the current prefix to /THUNDERBOLT
                                   (volume)

And if you type
]PREFIX
/THUNDERBOLT
]
you will get the current prefix. To set the prefix to a particular slot
and drive, you need to specify (for example):

]PREFIX ,S6,D1

Leaving out the comma, as in:

]PREFIX D1
]PREFIX
/THUNDERBOLT/D1
]CATALOG
 PATH NOT FOUND

Whereas a more desirable result may be had with...

]PREFIX ,S6,D1
]CAT

/GEMINI

PRODOS SYS
BASIC.SYSTEM SYS
COMMUNICATIONS DIR
APPLEWRITER DIR
SYSTEM DIR
ICONS DIR

]PREFIX
/GEMINI
]PREFIX COMMUNICATIONS/OUTGOING
]PREFIX
/GEMINI/COMMUNICATIONS/OUTGOING

I hope that makes some sense...
