Prodos Question

   I have a question about Prodos for the Apple ][e & c.  All the apple 
software available on the internet is listed as requiring Prodos 8 to 
operate.  My Prodos initializes with the startup screen:

       APPLE ][

PRODOS 1.0.2  15-FEB-84

Does this mean I have an outdated version of Prodos?  Will such programs 
as Binscii, Shrinkit, Zterm etc. run on it?  If I need a newer version of 
Prodos, how can I get it?
