SSC w/o RTS & Co. ?
i've been trying to connect my apple ][+ via an SSC to a modem -
however, it seems that my modem somehow doesn't set the DSR [or DTR?]
correctly.
So the question is: is there a way of making the SSC ignore RTS, CTS,
DSR, and DTR?
I'm pretty sure that the SSC works fine, b/c i connected a VT100
terminal
with it, and that worked.
Also, i inserted an RS232 tester between SSC and modem, then i set the
baud rate
to 75, so i could almost "see" the bits. When i send a certain command
to the
modem, it would actually respond with some identification string, which
i can
"see" with my RS232 tester.
However, the SSC doesn't want to read those responses from the modem -
i suspect, that's because the DSR & DTR singals are set differently from
when
i connect the SSC to the VT100 terminal...
Could anybody give me a hint or help?
[email preferred b/c of very limited time :( ]
Thanx a lot!
Gab.
