Appletalk GS to PC?

For the first time in my life, I'm actually getting some real networking 
experience on PC's and Mac's at work.  Just today, we sampled the audio from 4 
videotapes in the media studio, and all we had to do was drop the AIFF files 
into a folder on that Mac's desktop labeled "share", which was actually a 
folder on my NT workstation across the building.  How convenient!  Now that 
I've made this personal discovery of something that's been around for quite 
awhile, :)  I'd like to know if I can set something up like this on my GS/PC 
setup.  They both have a free serial port (well, I need to buy another one for 
the PC).  Can they interact like this?  (The GS is a loaded ROM 3 running 
6.0.1, and the PC is running Win95)  Thanks for any help!
